Reselling on Artsper

Reselling artworks between private collectors is now possible on Artsper, Europe’s leading contemporary art marketplace. This feature allows collectors to easily sell their artworks, whether purchased on Artsper or elsewhere.


Why sell an artwork on Artsper?

With our secure platform, you can manage the sale of your artworks with ease, directly from your personal account.
The “My Shop” tab provides a clear overview of your listings and makes it simple to put your works up for sale.


How to resell an artwork on Artsper?

Resell an artwork purchased on Artsper

  • From your personal account, click “Resell this artwork.”

  • The form will be pre-filled with the existing information.

  • Add recent photos, update the details, set your selling price, and confirm your contact details.

Resell an artwork purchased elsewhere

  • Fill in a blank form.

  • Only works by a limited list of best-selling artists are accepted.

  • You must provide two documents:

    • Purchase invoice

    • Certificate of authenticity


Where can I find my listed artworks?

All your listed works are available in your client account, under the “My Shop” tab. You can:

  • View your active listings

  • Pause or remove a work

  • Create promotions

  • View your sold works and approval dates


Moderation rules for reselling artworks

Works purchased on Artsper

  • Acceptance on a case-by-case basis

  • Design works are not accepted

  • No minimum or maximum price limit

  • Editions must be numbered and hand-signed if over 300 copies

Works purchased elsewhere

  • Acceptance on a case-by-case basis with mandatory documents

  • Invoice and certificate of authenticity required

  • Only numbered and signed editions (if >300 copies)

  • The price must reflect the artist’s market value and be lower than comparable works on Artsper or elsewhere


Shipping costs for reselling an artwork

  • Shipping costs are fully covered by Artsper.

  • Once the sale is confirmed, you will receive a prepaid shipping label (Upela) for the shipment.


Sending an artwork

Packaging preparation:

  • Pack the artwork with the utmost care to avoid any damage (reinforced protection, corner protectors, suitable materials).

Photos to provide:

  • One photo of the artwork before packaging (front + back).

  • Photos of the artwork once fully packaged (box or crate closed).

Why are these photos required?
They allow us to verify the condition of the artwork before shipping and to facilitate any claims in case of damage during transport.


What if my artwork is refused or if I encounter an issue?

  • In case of refusal, you will receive an email with the reasons and a link to our terms of sale.

  • For any questions, please contact our customer service team via email.


Managing active listings

  • Activation: Once validated, you will receive a confirmation email.

  • Follow-up:

    • After 3 months: reminder to check availability.

    • After 6 months: automatic deactivation with invitation to reactivate.


Right of withdrawal and return of an artwork

  • The buyer has a legal period of 14 days from receipt of the artwork to exercise their right of withdrawal.

  • Return costs: fully covered by Artsper.

  • Procedure: If a buyer wishes to return an artwork, we will contact you directly to organize the return under the best possible conditions.


When will I be paid after reselling an artwork?

  • Payment is made 14 days after the buyer confirms receipt of the artwork.

  • Payments are issued every Wednesday by bank transfer.


What commission does Artsper charge on resales?

Artsper applies a fixed 15% commission (excl. VAT) on the final sale price.

This commission covers:

  • Promotion of your artwork on the Artsper marketplace

  • Secure transaction management

  • Customer support before and after the sale

  • Organization of delivery
